CBVA Juniors is proud to host tournaments for players with a wide range of experience, knowledge, and skill. The Point System is structured to reflect the diversity of our players by rewarding top finishes (scaled according to the tournament size and age division), as well as to encourage participation - because the best way to get better is to keep playing!
1st through 5th Place finishers are awarded points according to a Base Scale as shown in the 'Regular Schedule' table below in combination with the Bonus Percentage Scale, which considers the number of teams entered into the tournament. More teams means a more points awarded to top finishers. Each age division has its own Base Scale to better reflect the elevated level of play in our successively older age divisions. Older age divisions start at a higher baseline.
Our Premier Tour tends to draw more and stronger competition vying for an invitation to our Cal Cup State Champions - so Tour Stops always award double points. (Go to the Juniors menu and choose Premier Tour to learn more about the tour and Cal Cup.)
All players who finish outside 5th place receive 5 participation points. Participation points are not subject to the Bonus Percentage or the doubled points for Tour Stops. Note that Rec divisions (14U Rec &12U Rec) and 10U award 5 participation points to all participants, regardless of finish.
Points last for one year from the date they are earned, then drop to 0.
